Zoning & Conditions
STRs are allowed in single-family houses, 1–4 unit houses, and condos, but prohibited in apartment complexes of 5+ units, RVs, and temporary structures. Owners must notify all adjacent neighbors prior to the first rental and provide a 24-hour emergency contact. Special events requiring separate permits are prohibited at STR locations.
How to Obtain a Permit
1. Submit an application via the Gila County online portal (Deckard) including a property deed, wastewater/septic verification, and proof of liability insurance. 2. Provide proof of Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT) compliance and notify adjacent neighbors using the prescribed county form. 3. Pay the $225 annual fee; permits must be renewed every year.
