Zoning & Conditions
Short-Term Rental Homes (STRHs) are permitted subject to community-plan-region caps (Hana is limited to 15 permits). Operations must have a designated manager available by phone and able to arrive onsite within one hour, all parking must be onsite, advertising must include the permit number, and rentals are limited to six bedrooms across up to two licensed dwellings.
How to Obtain a Permit
1) Submit a Short-Term Rental Home (STRH) application online via the Maui MAPPS portal. 2) Ensure the application complies with Maui County Code (Ch. 19.65) and regional limits. 3) Pay required fees through MAPPS and provide documentation for conditions such as a designated local manager and on-site parking.
