Zoning & Conditions
Short-Term Rental Homes (STRH) are allowed but expressly limited and regulated by Maui County Code Chapter 19.65 and Paia-Haiku–specific amendments; permits are limited by Community Plan Region (see MCC 19.65.030.R) and STRHs are subject to restrictions and standards established by ordinance (Ordinance 4995 and Ordinance 5300).
How to Obtain a Permit
1) Submit a new STRH application online via MAPPS (Maui’s Automated Planning and Permitting Solution) and attach a fully processed Land Use Designation Form. 2) Planning Department reviews/approves applications; to renew, complete the Short Term Rental Home Renewal Application Packet and submit renewal materials by email to currentdivision@mauicounty.gov.
