Zoning & Conditions
Rentals defined as 'transient' (occupancy of less than 7 consecutive days) are prohibited. Rentals of seven days or more require a Village rental permit and must be leased only to a 'family' as defined in the code. Applications must include tenant contact information, a certificate of occupancy/compliance, a plot plan, a floor plan, and a sworn affidavit regarding safety devices (smoke detectors and fire extinguishers).
How to Obtain a Permit
1) Submit the Village rental permit application electronically via the Village website (under 'Application Forms') at least 7 days prior to occupancy. 2) Attach required documentation, including a certificate of occupancy or compliance, a plot plan/floor plan, and a sworn affidavit attesting to code compliance and the presence of working fire extinguishers and smoke detectors. 3) Pay the permit fee (currently $125); permits are valid for the calendar year and must be renewed annually.
