Transient rentals of 14 days or less are prohibited. For rentals of 14 days or longer, owners must obtain a permit, include the permit number in all advertisements, limit overnight parking to four cars (1:00 a.m.–6:00 a.m.), and restrict basement bedrooms to a maximum of two.
How to Obtain a Permit
1. Download the rental permit application from the Town's Forms & Applications webpage. 2. Submit the completed application along with applicable fees in person or by mail to Code Enforcement at 27 Ponquogue Ave., Hampton Bays. 3. Complete a required property inspection; permits are valid for two years and are non-transferable.
