All rental properties must be registered with the Registry Authority. Owners living more than 20 miles from the city must designate a local managing agent. Operators must also comply with New York State requirements for collecting and remitting occupancy and sales taxes.
How to Obtain a Permit
1. Complete the Landlord Registration Statement form provided by the Bureau of Code Enforcement. 2. Pay the $150 filing fee per rental property. 3. Submit the form to the Registry Authority (Bureau of Information Services/Code Enforcement).
