Short-term rentals (less than 30 days) require a Town license prior to advertising. Maximum occupancy is two times the number of bedrooms (per NY State Building Code) plus two. Each unit requires its own permit, and the license and visitor emergency information must be posted within the unit.
How to Obtain a Permit
1) Submit a completed Town of Wilmington Short-Term Rental Permit Application signed by all owners to the Code Enforcement Officer. 2) Pay the required fees ($300 per unit plus $50 per sleeping area) via the Town payment portal. 3) Upon issuance, the STR license and visitor emergency information must be displayed in the unit.
