Zoning & Conditions
Short-term rentals are subject to local zoning, building, health, and safety regulations, and must comply with lodging tax requirements. Zoning restrictions apply: 'Commercial lodging' is generally prohibited in residential districts, while 'Bed and breakfast' uses are limited or conditional; facilities must not be the primary domicile of the occupant to be classified as a Short-Term Stay Facility.
How to Obtain a Permit
1. File a certificate of registration with the Director in the prescribed form within 3 days of commencing business. 2. The Director will issue a certificate of authority within 5 days without charge. 3. The certificate must be permanently displayed at the facility.
