Home sharing is limited to 30 consecutive days and must be the host's primary residence unless a special exception is granted. Occupancy is capped at 16 persons, and rentals are limited to 10 nights per month without a special exception. A '10% Rule' applies to special exceptions, limiting them to 10% of dwellings on a platted block, and one parking space must be provided for every four guests.
How to Obtain a Permit
1. Prepare the Home Sharing License application along with required documents, including a Primary Residence Affidavit, three forms of ID for proof of residency, and an immigration affidavit. 2. Submit the application to the Business Licensing section and pay the annual fee ($110.40 for 2025-2026). 3. If the property is not a primary residence or is in a Historic Preservation district, first obtain a special exception from the Board of Adjustment.
