Zoning & Conditions
STRs are prohibited in the Conservation District. In Village, Residential, and Resort districts, rentals of ≤2 bedrooms are allowed without a permit only if the operator lives on-site; otherwise, or for >2 bedrooms, a Zoning Permit or Conditional Use approval is required. Requirements include 1.5 parking spaces per guest bedroom, adherence to wastewater capacity (2 people per bedroom), and annual inspections by the Code Enforcement Officer.
How to Obtain a Permit
1. Submit a Zoning Permit application to the Zoning Department including a project line specifying the number of bedrooms for STR use. 2. Attach the STR Safety Form, a site plan, a floor plan, proof of wastewater capacity, and the $18 filing fee. 3. Upon issuance, post the 'P' poster on the property and wait for the 15-day appeal period to pass before beginning operations.
