Short-term rentals are allowed only in Residential Dwellings and are limited to no more than 24 units in the Single-Family Residential (R-1) district. Only permanent residential dwellings may be used (no RVs, tents, or accessory structures), and owners must provide safety equipment (smoke/CO detectors, fire extinguishers), secondary egress, and an emergency contact reachable within one hour. Occupancy is generally limited to two adults per bedroom.
How to Obtain a Permit
1) Submit a Town-provided application including copies of your WV state business license, WV sales tax account, and Town of Davis business license. 2) Complete a safety inspection conducted by the Town code enforcement officer. 3) Pay applicable fees at Town Hall; permits are valid for one year and must be renewed annually.
