Short-term rentals in the Town of Davis are restricted to residential dwellings with a cap of 24 units in the Single-Family Residential (R-1) district. Occupancy is limited to two adults per bedroom, and the use of RVs, campers, or tents as STRs is prohibited. A 2% countywide Emergency Ambulance Service (EMS) fee also applies effective January 1, 2025.
How to Obtain a Permit
1) Submit the Town of Davis short-term rental permit application in the owner's name along with required documents (WV state business license, WV sales tax account, and Town business license). 2) Schedule and pass a safety inspection conducted by the Town code enforcement officer to ensure compliance with safety requirements (smoke detectors, egress, etc.). 3) Once approved, the permit is valid for one year and must be renewed annually.
